Beauty Barrage: Getting to the Bottom of the Neutrogena Deep Clean Revitalizing Pink Grapefruit Ultra Foam Cleanser

Hello! Let's get to the bottom of this post, shall we? By "getting to the bottom" I meant literally getting to the bottom of a product! In makeup circles it's known as "hitting the pan", but the phrase doesn't really work for all products, so "getting to the bottom" it is.

Now, getting to the bottom of a product doesn't automatically mean it's so good I used it all up. Sometimes it means I just used it up because I didn't want to waste product, since products mean money after all. Such was the case with the Neutrogena Deep Clean Revitalizing Pink Grapefruit Ultra Foam Cleanser.

I've been searching for a daily cleanser for a long time. I have found some really reliable exfoliators, but I haven't been as lucky on the cleanser front. It's actually an ongoing search, and the jury's still out on which cleanser will work best for my dry skin. This Neutrogena cleanser is sadly going into my pile of cleansers that didn't work out.

The bottle says it effectively removes up to 99% of oil, dirt and impurities. It seemed like it did the job, because my face looked and felt clean after every use. However, I still broke out a lot, which means it just wasn't cleansing enough.

It also claims that the pink grapefruit helps eliminate dead skin cells for younger-looking, healthy skin. I was actually really excited when I saw this cleanser because I love pink grapefruit anything. However, my skin just looked dull and lifeless when  I was using it. It was like the cleanser was no help in any way, and was quite disappointing. I've also read that foam cleansers are so bad for dry skin like mine so this really had to go.

I'm currently test-driving another cleanser, but I'm still on the hunt, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

  1. I've tried this cleanser before and didn't like it. I want my cleanser to leave my skin squeaky clean kase and this one didn't. Hehe. But I also "got to the bottom" of it only because I didn't want to waste. :)

    1. Word. It simply doesn't work.

If you don't mind me asking, what cleanser are you using now and what's your skin type? I'm still searching for a cleanser that will work for me. :)

    2. I have oily skin and i'm using Souq Organics Moroccan Argan Gentle Soap. :)

    3. Thanks for sharing! Interesting. I have dry skin though. I should look into that.
